- Themed rooms. Twelve themed rooms each have their own bathroom, with names like Big Nose Kate and Speak Easy, and 11 of them have clawfoot tubs.
- Square view rooms. Two rooms overlook Courthouse Square, which puts guests above the plaza action on event days.
- Courtyard weddings and gatherings. The courtyard hosts weddings, reunions and company gatherings.
- Original bones. Original brick, windows and floors remain in the building.
A little history
The building dates to the early 1900s, when it was a saloon. In 1949 the first floor became the Holiday Shop and the upstairs became the Highland Hotel, with 16 rooms. A fire in May 2012 damaged the building, and it came back as today's Grand Highland Hotel.
Insider tip
Ask for one of the two square view rooms if a plaza event is on, and ask for a clawfoot tub room if a long soak is the plan.
